Emraan Hashmi Opens Up About His Biggest Career Regret

In a recent candid chat with News18, Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi revealed that he has one significant regret in his career — a film he wishes he hadn’t done. Known for his bold choices and his title as the “serial kisser” of Bollywood, Hashmi admitted that this particular film still haunts him.

Despite initially being impressed by the script, the final product was far from what he had envisioned. “I did a film way back. I wouldn’t want to take the name because a lot of creative people were involved in it. It was a film made with the best of intentions. It had a great script. However, it turned out to be this god-awful film! I couldn’t even see it because the trailer itself was so cringe. It definitely wasn’t what I had signed up for,” he confessed.

Hashmi also spoke about feeling envious of his peers who consistently deliver hit films. “There’s always a battle in my head that a certain actor might have gotten a role but I deserved it. I know that I could’ve done a better job at it because it’s a s**t job that he did. There’s always this feeling. There’s this narcissistic side to you where you feel that you could’ve done something better than others,” he added.

Emraan Hashmi made his acting debut in Footpath (2003), produced by his uncles Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. His breakthrough came with the erotic thriller Murder (2004). He continued to build his career with notable films such as Zeher, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Aksar, Gangster: A Love Story, Jannat, Raaz: The Mystery Continues, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, and The Dirty Picture. Most recently, he appeared in a cameo role in the historical biographical film Ae Watan Mere Watan.

Despite his occasional missteps, Emraan Hashmi’s career is marked by his willingness to take risks and push boundaries, earning him a distinctive place in Bollywood.
